Students come to class 4 times a week for a total of 257 minutes. Roosevelt High School has six 47-minute periods on Mondays; one 50-minute period on Fridays; and four 80-minute periods on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The length of the project varies from year to year, depending on the operas and the types of products teachers have students create. Some, such as making the masks the first year, require 3 to 4 weeks to complete. Others have been yearlong efforts that encompass a variety of components.
