At Kanu o ka 'Aina students use alternate campuses on alternate weeks. Students at Kawaihae/Puupulehu (outdoor learning labs) spend two hours of afternoon class time each day on outdoor activities which include: reforestation projects, voyaging canoes, Hawaiian games, cultural history. During the week at the Lalamilo (multimedia resource center) campus, all students spend an hour and fifteen minute period on similar cultural projects, and upper level students spend two hours and fifteen minutes in the afternoon working on technology projects including video production, book publishing, multimedia, networking, and websites.
